Local Charities Celebrate Over £50,000 funding

TWO charity groups in the North West have received grants of £50,009 between them.

Using money raised by HealthReward CIC, through The Health Lottery, grants have been awarded by People’s Health Trust through Active Communities, a funding programme which invests in local people and groups in communities with great ideas to make their communities even better.

The two charities celebrating the funding include:

  • Supporting People Achieving Real Choice (Halton), £28,009 - This new 14 month project will set up a club for young people with learning disabilities in Halton where they can create comics & film animations and receive befriending from local volunteers.
  • Peel Hall Conservation Group (Warrington), £22,000 - This new two year project aims to get local people involved in managing, developing and studying their local green space. The project will be based in the Peel Hall area of Warrington and addresses issues of general community and neighbourhood work, social or emotional isolation, and mental ill-health.

 Chris Lunn, Director of HealthReward, said: “It’s great that money raised by HealthReward CIC is supporting such important local initiatives.”

So far, HealthReward CIC has raised £1,197,959 for good causes in Chester, Halton, Warrington and Cheshire.

Active Communities is for community groups and not-for-profit organisations’ with an income of less than £350,000 a year that are seeking investment of between £5,000 and £50,000 a year, for projects lasting up to two years. For more information visit www.PeoplesHealthTrust.org.uk
